Kathryn Berry, MSW, LCSW, is an Illinois-based clinical social worker with multiple years of experience in her field. Kathryn completed both her undergraduate and graduate studies at Loyola University Chicago, receiving her master’s degree in social work (MSW) in 2014. Kathryn has worked primarily with adults coping with a wide range of symptoms, including those that are a part of the LGBTQIA+ community. She specializes in the use of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), a treatment that can help improve the lives of anyone experiencing overwhelming emotions.
Kathryn acknowledges how much courage it takes to seek therapy. She recognizes that you are the expert on yourself and works with you to create treatment goals tailored to what that you want to gain from therapy. She will customize treatment to such goals, which may or may not include DBT skills training. Kathryn considers multiple factors to provide the best therapeutic services possible, including culture, gender-identity, trauma history, client strengths and other aspects of a person that make you unique.
Outside of work, Kathryn enjoys playing with her cat, Sophie, going to the movie theater, and watching trains.
