Rachel obtained her BSN from the University of Louisville and her MSN from Eastern Kentucky University. She has been working in healthcare for almost 20 years, starting as a nurse’s assistant when she was a teenager. She works with patients across the lifespan and particularly enjoys working with seniors, mothers of young children, and those struggling with personality disorders. She enjoys that mental health gives her the chance to work with and advocate for marginalized groups. She encourages all of her patients to participate in therapy in order to receive the full benefit from mental health treatment. Rachel takes a non-judgmental approach with her patients, being willing to meet them where they are in their journey. She understands not every patient is ready to take medications after their first appointment and is accommodating for this. Rachel combines evidence-based medication management with a laid-back approach.
In her free time Rachel stays busy with her children and a busy household. She enjoys sewing and quilting, a skill which she was taught by her mother and grandmother as a child. She also loves bluegrass music and going to concerts and festivals. She is a devoted cat lady with three cats. Her 18 lb. Maine Coon mix has been known to make an appearance on telehealth appointments.
